Local Assembly Member Paul Davies has been appointed Deputy Leader and Shadow Minister for Finance, by the new Welsh Conservative Assembly Group leader, Andrew R.T. Davies AM.
Paul Davies said "I am delighted to become both Deputy Leader of the group and Shadow Minister for Finance and I hope that these new responsibilities will further support me in continuing to work on behalf of the people of Preseli Pembrokeshire."
"As the official opposition it's the Welsh Conservatives' duty to scrutinise the Welsh Labour government and hold Ministers to account. During the current climate, it's crucial that public money is spent wisely and effectively; not wasted, as we have seen so often before under Labour."
"I look forward to working with other parties in the Assembly – and the Secretary of State for Wales - particularly following the announcement of a Calman-style Commission to examine the way the Welsh Government spends money. This is a crucial development that follows the UK Government's commitment to reviewing the way Wales is funded."
"This Shadow Cabinet is on the side of anyone who cares about businesses, our NHS and our education system. We are committed to getting results and we are determined to improve services for the people of Pembrokeshire and the people of Wales."
