Local Assembly Member Paul Davies has invited the Minister for Natural Resources, Carl Sargeant AM, to visit local residents in Lower Town, Fishguard to hear first-hand about the effects of flooding on the local community. During a recent plenary exchange, Mr Davies explained the seriousness of the situation locally and extended an invitation to the Minister to visit the local area for himself
Mr Davies said, “Flooding in Lower Town, Fishguard has been a significant problem for some time now, and whilst there has been a constructive dialogue with local people, councillors and Natural Resources Wales, I felt it was time for the Minister to see the situation for himself.”
He added, “Historically, we’ve seen surface water knee-deep in some cases and even trapping cars and other vehicles, so it’s important that stakeholders come together to help find a solution that makes Lower Town much more resilient in the future. I look forward to receiving the Minister’s response, which I hope will be positive, in due course.”
