Local Assembly Member Paul Davies has called for the Welsh Government to build on its work with local groups and stakeholders to better protect our environment for the future. During a Welsh Conservative debate on littering, Mr Davies highlighted the importance of developing a collaborative approach to tackling litter in our communities.
Mr Davies said, “It was a pleasure to contribute to the debate on the local environment, given that Pembrokeshire plays such an important role in Wales’ tourism industry. That’s why it’s important that the Welsh Government does more to change public attitudes towards littering, which can be such a blight on our communities.”
He added, “We are so fortunate that locally, the National Park, Keep Wales Tidy and other local groups and stakeholders do such a fantastic job of protecting our local communities, but adverse weather can have a serious impact on our coastline and the Welsh Government must be proactive in working with local authorities and their communities in their clean-up operations.”
