Local Assembly Member Paul Davies has raised funding for regenerating Milford Haven, with the Minister for Communities and Tackling Poverty. Milford Haven has a shop vacancy rate of 21 per cent, which is substantially higher than the UK’s average of 11.8 per cent.
Mr Davies said: “I was pleased to have the opportunity to highlight such a serious issue with the Minister for Communities and Tackling Poverty. Milford Haven has a much higher shop vacancy rate than the UK average and it’s important that the town receives the support that it needs. Welsh high streets are the lifeblood of our communities and we want them to stay that way. I understand that Milford Haven has been supported by the town centre loan scheme but that works on a recyclable loan basis. I want to see real, concrete, permanent support for regeneration efforts in Milford Haven.”
