Local Assembly Member Paul Davies has attended a patient-led Patient VOICE event to meet with cancer charity representatives and those affected by cancer to discuss more about their experiences and their views on cancer services in Wales. Mr Davies met with representatives from several cancer charities, and Pembrokeshire’s own Maria Dullaghan, who was diagnosed with cervical cancer, who attended with her mother Angela.
Mr Davies said, “It was a pleasure to attend such a wonderful event, which brought together cancer charities from all over Wales. It was a great opportunity to meet with a number of people affected by cancer to better understand how they want to see cancer services delivered in the future.”
He added, “I also had the chance to meet Maria Dullaghan from Haverfordwest, who has been working with Jo’s Cervical Cancer to raise awareness of cervical cancer and spoke with me about their experiences of diagnosis and treatment in Wales. I sincerely hope that the next Welsh Government take on board the views of those like Maria, who have been directly affected by cancer, when delivering services for the future.”
