Pembrokeshire Assembly Member Paul Davies was pleased to attend the RSPCA Annual Dinner in the Pierhead Building which brought together stakeholders from across Wales to discuss the work of the RSPCA and to celebrate the achievements of the Community Animal Welfare Footprints Awards.
Mr Davies said, ‘I spoke to a number of colleagues throughout Wales about Animal Welfare issues, and I enjoyed learning more about the achievements of the recent Award Winners who have given outstanding service to protect animals. I was delighted to congratulate Lucy Thomas from Pembrokeshire Council who collected three awards on the County’s behalf.
I have been out on call previously with an RSPCA Inspector in Pembrokeshire and have seen first hand the challenges which they face on a daily basis, tackling animal welfare issues. It is quite clear that the role of an Inspector is very varied, and deals with all types of animals in many distressing circumstances’.
