Preseli Pembrokeshire AM Paul Davies is supporting the Wales Environment Link (WEL) Species Champions initiative, by pledging to support the Puffin. The work of Species Champions will be important in ensuring that Wales meets the international target under the Convention on Biological Diversity to halt the loss of biodiversity by 2020.
Mr Davies said, “It’s a privilege to be involved in such an important campaign. I’m delighted to support the Puffin given their natural habitat is just off the coast of Pembrokeshire. This campaign is a great opportunity for politicians to connect with our local wildlife, understand more about the role of nature and help preserve these species for our future generations.”
He added, “Pembrokeshire is home to some of the world’s most beautiful and unique wildlife and it’s important that we support conservation work across the County so that puffins and other animals are better protected for the future.”
