Senedd Member Paul Davies has recently met with Llais, the independent national body, which represents people across Wales in shaping health and social care services. Llais represents the views and experiences of people using both health and social services in Wales and works with NHS organisations, local authorities and volunteer organisations, to ensure patient voices are continually heard and represented. Llais also replaces community health councils (CHCs) in their role of representing the voice of patients within healthcare.
Mr Davies said, “I had a really interesting meeting with one of the Deputy Regional Directors to learn more about the work of Llais and their priorities for the coming months. This new body is the patient voice for health and social care matters, and I was pleased to hear that it has expanded its capacity to support its patient advocacy work.”
“We had a full and frank chat about some of the challenges facing NHS services at the moment, including GP services, dentistry and discharging patients from hospitals to care settings. Llais has a very important role in engaging with Hywel Dda University Health Board and local authorities on these matters and I look forward to working with the team as constructively as possible in the future.”
