Additional funding for children’s mental health services has been welcomed by local Welsh Parliament Member Paul Davies. Following the announcement of £9.4million from the Welsh Government, Mr Davies said it’s important that that funding is rolled out to all parts of Wales so that children living Pembrokeshire also have access to vital support and services.
Mr Davies said “It’s good to see additional funding being allocated to children’s mental health services but it’s also crucial that that funding reaches children in all parts of Wales. Rural communities like Pembrokeshire, must not be left behind. Children's helpline MEIC Cymru has reported a 10% increase in the number of calls from young people, parents, and carers during the pandemic compared with previous years and so it’s vital that this additional funding is rolled out quickly to all parts of Wales, in order to help protect and support children throughout the pandemic.”
