Calls to dual the A40, deliver a footbridge and find a workable solution to matters in Lower Town Fishguard, and improve bus services across Pembrokeshire have all been raised in the Assembly Chamber by local Assembly Member Paul Davies. Mr Davies contributed to a Welsh Conservative debate on Wales’ road infrastructure, arguing that Pembrokeshire had been neglected and urging the Welsh Government to do more to address Pembrokeshire’s infrastructure needs.
Mr Davies said, “Pembrokeshire has long been at the bottom of the Welsh Government’s priority list and that has got to change. The county’s significant contribution to the national economy cannot be underestimated and in order for Pembrokeshire to reach its full potential, the Welsh Government must commit to addressing its infrastructure needs. Whilst the Welsh Government continues to push ahead with transport schemes in other parts of Wales, those in west Wales are pushed further down the list. Pembrokeshire must not be the poor relation in Wales and it’s high time that it gets the infrastructure investment it so desperately needs.”
