Local Assembly Member Paul Davies recently visited the Welsh Spitfire Museum in Haverfordwest ahead of the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Royal Air Force in April. Mr Davies visited the museum along with local MP Stephen Crabb and heard more about its plans to develop a military reference library as their expanding collection of literature is now at almost 5,000 pieces.
Mr Davies said, “It was a pleasure to visit the Welsh Spitfire museum and have a look around the fuselage and the various exhibits. We’re very fortunate to have such a unique attraction on our doorstep and I’d encourage everyone to go and visit the museum. It was interesting to hear that a military reference library is now being developed and I look forward to visiting it when it opens. I wish the museum every success and I’m very grateful to the volunteers who have been so committed to protecting the artefacts and promoting our military history. Of course, there’s always room for more volunteers and so if this is something that you’d be interested in, please visit the museum’s website at http://welshspitfire.org/.”
