This week, local Assembly Member Paul Davies continued to lobby the Minister for Health and Social Services with questions over the lack of dental facilities in the North of Preseli Pembrokeshire.
Paul Davies said, "I am pleased to bring these issues to the forefront of the Minister's attention. It continues to be a concern for many people that some residents are still unable to access vital NHS dentistry services and it is an issue I will continue to raise.
It is simply not good enough for the Minister to claim that she is aware of the issue. Something has to be done to protect those dental services in the North of Pembrokeshire which are in short supply.
The recent closure of the Newcastle Emlyn practice is particularly worrying for some of my constituents in the North. Whilst the practice itself is not in my constituency, some 400 residents have been affected by this closure.
In response, I will continue to pressurize the Minister to work closer with Hywel Dda health board to ensure that this issue is resolved as quickly as possible."
