A 92-year-old Pembrokeshire woman has been told she will have to wait two years to have her hearing aid tested, Paul Davies AM can reveal.
The pensioner is one of a number of concerned residents who have contacted the Preseli Pembrokeshire AM to complain about long waiting times for audiology appointments in the county.
Mr Davies has now raised the matter with the Welsh Health Minister Edwina Hart.
"For a 92-year-old to be told she faces a two-year wait is unacceptable," said Mr Davies.
"And it is not just an isolated case. I know that the members of a lip-reading class in Pembrokeshire are gathering a petition to object to lengthy waits for appointments.
"This situation needs to be looked into as a matter of urgency."
