This week, Preseli Pembrokeshire AM Paul Davies pledged support for the Opt for Life campaign which calls for a change to UK legislation to ensure that more organs are available for those on the transplant waiting list.
The scheme would mean that instead of people adding their names to a register if they wanted to donate an organ, they would register if they did not want to donate instead.
Paul Davies said "I am delighted to support such a worthy and much needed cause. The Opt for Life campaign is not compulsory and people have the right to "opt out" at any time.
I am confident that this campaign will be a success and I will continue to support the legislation to seek powers to bring in an opt out system of organ donation in Wales.
"I would like to encourage everybody to show their support by signing up to the Opt for Life wall of support at www.optingforlife.org/wallofsupport.
Thousands of people across Britain are awaiting a transplant with nearly 500 people in Wales still on the waiting list. Every one of us can actively make a difference and save a life by supporting this campaign."
