Local Assembly Member Paul Davies is pleased to wear a red ribbon in the run up to World Aids Day 2018 on December 1st. This awareness raising day was founded back in 1988 and was the first ever global health day.
Paul Davies stated, “Wearing a simple red ribbon shows that people from around the world are united in the fight against HIV and shows support for people living with HIV. Despite the fact that the virus was only identified in 1984, more than 35 million people have died of HIV or Aids.
Each year in the UK, around 5,000 people are diagnosed with HIV and it is critical that people know how to protect themselves and others.”
