Commenting on the Chancellor's Spending Review – including future commitments for infrastructure developments regarding the M4 – Shadow Minister for Finance, Paul Davies AM, said:
"This spending review sets out an ambitious UK Government vision for ensuring fairness and prioritising growth.
"It is true to say that we have gone from rescue to recovery as more progress is made in boosting the economy and reversing Labour's mistakes.
"The Chancellor's reasserted commitment to an M4 relief road is extremely welcome.
"Labour's decision to ditch this project has constrained the economy and frustrated motorists.
"Welsh Conservatives have long championed a relief road and it is now vital that a UK Government response to the Silk Commission's recommendations is forthcoming – and delivery of this project confirmed."
Commenting on the safeguarding of funding for S4C, Shadow Minister for Culture Suzy Davies AM said:
"This reinforces the UK Government's continued support for the Welsh language broadcaster.
"S4C makes an immense contribution towards our creative industries and I welcome this announcement wholeheartedly."
