Local MS Paul Davies has recently visited a roadshow organised by the British Liver Trust to raise awareness of the dangers of liver disease. The roadshow is part of the ‘Love Your Liver’ campaign which highlights the impact of alcohol on your liver, as well as other risk factors including non-alcohol related fatty liver disease and viral hepatitis.
Mr Davies said, “It was a pleasure to drop into the Love Your Liver roadshow – these events are a great way to interact with people in the local community and remind them of the importance of good liver health. The representatives from the British Liver Trust explained that 90% of liver disease is reversable if caught early. Therefore, it’s vital that there is policy approach which combines improving early detection with policies to address population health around alcohol and obesity as this would significantly improve liver health in Wales.
