Pembrokeshire Assembly Members Paul Davies and Angela Burns recently attended the 2015 Countryside Alliance Awards, with businesses from across the country vying for a "Rural Oscar". The event boasts four awards – the Best Shop Category, the Local Food category, the Enterprise category and the Butchery category which were hotly contested by producers across Wales.
Preseli Pembrokeshire AM Paul Davies said, “I was delighted to attend the Countryside Alliance awards ceremony and support Preseli Pembrokeshire’s nominations - the Really Wild food festival and Celtic Quest Coasteering. These awards are an excellent way to promote the local businessmen and women who are working hard to keep rural Wales ticking and it was excellent to see Pembrokeshire businesses put on the map. We have so much to celebrate locally and following the Really Wild food festival’s win, I look forward to seeing more and more of our local businesses winning ‘Rural Oscars’ in the future.”
Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire AM Angela Burns said, “It was a great evening for Pembrokeshire and I would like to give my heartfelt congratulations to Sian and Geraint Bowen of Bethesda Farm Shop who were Highly Commended in the Butcher category. Having shopped there many times I can personally vouch for the quality and range of food Geraint and Sian have for sale. It’s also a lovely place for lunch and I think the quality of the product, their location and the welcoming atmosphere make this a fabulous place to visit. Pembrokeshire companies swept the board and deservedly so. Well done to all of them”
