Pembrokeshire politicians Paul Davies and Angela Burns were part of the Welsh Conservatives Assembly election launch, hoping to keep Pembrokeshire blue this May.
Amongst other plans, A Welsh Conservative Government has pledged to:
- PROTECT THE NHS; by guaranteeing more investment in our health service each and every year
- CREATE MORE JOBS; by backing small businesses and improving infrastructure
- DELIVER EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION; transforming teacher training and directing more funds to the classroom
- PROVIDE SECURITY AND DIGNITY FOR OLDER PEOPLE; by setting a cap on costs and protecting £100,000 of assets for those in residential care
- TREBLE FREE CHILDCARE; ensuring affordable and accessible support for families
In Pembrokeshire Mr Davies will be hoping to keep his seat in Preseli Pembrokeshire and Mrs Burns in Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire.
Over the coming weeks, Mr Davies, Mrs Burns and their teams of local volunteers are planning to visit communities throughout Pembrokeshire and attend public meetings and hustings across the County to ensure that their re-election messages reach every community in Pembrokeshire.
Mr Davies said: "I believe that this is an important election for the people of Pembrokeshire. This is your chance to have your say on Welsh government matters, such as services at Withybush hospital, education and school provision, local government reform, agricultural support – the list goes on. I will be working hard to discuss these matters with local people and putting forward Welsh Conservative proposals, which I believe will better support people living in Pembrokeshire.”
Mrs Burns said, “This is a vital election for Wales and particularly Carmarthen West & South Pembrokeshire because it's our opportunity to stop the drain in public services. Whether it is health, transport or schools we need better services delivered locally. Labour and Labour Plaid Cymru coalitions have presided over stagnating results, a poor Welsh economy and a cash starved health service for too long."
