News that Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority is set to receive £850,006 in additional Capital funding, from the Welsh Government’s Designated Landscapes scheme has been welcomed by local Assembly Member Paul Davies. The funding is part of a package of support to help Wales’ National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty to deliver a range of initiatives such as decarbonisation and greening measures, improvements to tourism infrastructure, enhancing biodiversity and further support for access and recreation.
Mr Davies said, “Any funding to help support Wales’ National Parks is certainly welcome and I’m pleased that Pembrokeshire is receiving some of that funding. Our National Parks not only welcome millions of visitors each year, but they also promote and protect our culture, help foster more cohesive communities and plays a significant role in creating a more healthier and resilient Wales – and Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is no exception. I’m confident that the Park Authority will put this money to good use and I look forward to hearing more about the National Park’s plans for the future as they develop.”
