MS for Preseli Pembrokeshire, Paul Davies has recently visited Gellifawr Woodland Retreat in the Gwaun Valley. The retreat is comprised of a hotel and series of cottages and is nestled in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, about four miles from the coast and beaches at Newport Sands. The Retreat is also one of Pembrokeshire’s premier wedding venues and was recently voted best wedding venue at the welsh National Wedding Awards in 2018 and 2019.
Mr Davies said, “I was delighted to meet with Nia and hear how Covid-19 restrictions has impacted the retreat and its operations. Of course, both the hospitality sector and the wedding industry has been hit hard by the pandemic and it was really useful to hear about some the challenges that the business has faced and learn more about how Governments at all levels can support the sector going forward. The retreat is an important local employer in the area and I’ll be doing everything that I can locally and at the Senedd to see their concerns being addressed by the authorities in Pembrokeshire and in Cardiff Bay.”
