Local Assembly Member Paul Davies has recently visited Fields Lodge, a bed and breakfast close to Milford Haven, to discuss some of the challenges facing the local tourism industry. Mr Davies sampled one of Fields Lodge’s renowned breakfast, whilst discussing ways the Welsh Government can better support the Pembrokeshire tourism sector.
Mr Davies said, “It was a pleasure to visit Fields Lodge to discuss with owner Jayne Hancock some of the issues facing local tourist operators. Fields Lodge is fast developing an excellent reputation for itself and after sampling their breakfast I can certainly see why Fields Lodge won the Pembrokeshire Tourism Award for Finest Pembrokeshire Breakfast in addition to a host of other awards.”
He added, “It’s crucial that the Welsh Government does all that it can to support small tourism businesses and creates the right environment to help them develop. Businesses like Fields Lodge are the backbone of Pembrokeshire’s economy and more needs to be done to ensure that they thrive in the future. I’m very grateful to Jayne and her team for their hospitality and I look forward to seeing Fields Lodge go from strength to strength in the future.”
Owner of Fields Lodge Jayne Hancock said “I was delighted to welcome Paul to Fields Lodge so he could see for himself what we offer our customers. Tourism in Pembrokeshire is key to the local economy and I would like to think that Fields Lodge plays its part in promoting Pembrokeshire as an important tourist destination. The County of Pembrokeshire is a great place to visit and I look forward to welcoming hopefully even more visitors this year.”
