Local Senedd Member Paul Davies has recently met with Ramblers Cymru for a walk and talk to discuss their new Paths to Wellbeing project. Ramblers Cymru are seeking to give communities across Wales the tools and training needed to identify and design new routes and enhance and upgrade existing ones, all with the support of a Paths to Wellbeing regional project officer. It’s understood that 18 communities across Wales will be selected for development, including free training for volunteers and Mr Davies is keen to see applications submitted for projects in Pembrokeshire.
Mr Davies said, “It was a pleasure to meet with Ramblers Cymru to discuss their new project, whilst walking around Solva. We’re very fortunate to have so much beautiful natural landscape and it’s important to everyone’s physical and mental health to explore our local environment. The Paths to Wellbeing project is really exciting and it would be great to see applications submitted from Pembrokeshire. If successful, Ramblers Cymru will provide free training to volunteers, along with a whole host of nature based activities as well as providing tools to help maintain local landscapes. The deadline for submissions is on 15th August and you can read about the scheme on the Ramblers Cymru website at https://www.ramblers.org.uk/pathstowellbeing.”
