Local Assembly Member Paul Davies has yet again joined crowds outside the Senedd to protest against reductions in services at Withybush Hospital. Mr Davies joined hundreds of Pembrokeshire residents who had made the long trip to Cardiff to give a clear message that recent decisions affecting services at Withybush Hospital would not be tolerated.
Mr Davies said “I was very pleased to be able to meet the hundreds of people that travelled to Cardiff today. The protestors gave a very clear message that the recent reductions in services at Withybush Hospital such as closing the Special Care Baby Unit, and downgrading paediatric services are dangerous and is putting people’s lives at risk. A number of constituents have contacted me advising me of their awful experiences by having to travel to access services at Glangwili Hospital in the middle of the night.”
Mr Davies added “The numbers of people that continue to travel to Cardiff for these important protests show that the people of Pembrokeshire will not go down without a fight. I was pleased to be able to address the protestors and I will take every opportunity to keep raising this issue in the Assembly and lobby the Health Minister to reverse these catastrophic decisions.”
