Local Assembly Member Paul Davies has signed the Holocaust Book of Commitment to honour the victims of the Holocaust as well as paying tribute to those who work to educate children and young people of the events of Holocaust and in subsequent genocides. The signing of the Book of Commitment takes place as part of Holocaust Memorial Day (January 27th).
Mr Davies said: “I was honoured to sign the Holocaust Book at the Assembly. It’s so important that we remember those affected by the Holocaust and other genocides across the world and pay tribute to the survivors. As a society, we have a responsibility to promote an equal society, where no one is judged or victimized because of their background or ethnicity. Therefore, we must work together to learn the lessons of the past and create a safer and much more harmonious world, which promotes respect and is tolerant of different faiths and beliefs.”
