Local Assembly Member Paul Davies is supporting a nationwide anti-bullying campaign, to help raise awareness of the devastating impact that bullying can have on people’s lives. Anti-Bullying Week 2019 is between the 11th and 15th November and offers the opportunity to put a spotlight on the issue of bullying and look at ways in which we can create safe environments for everyone. The theme this year is “Change Starts with Us” and people are encouraged to take part in Odd Socks Day on Tuesday 12th November to celebrate what makes us all unique.
Mr Davies said, “I’m delighted to show my support for this fantastic cause. Bullying can happen anywhere, to anyone, at any age and so it’s important that we all work together to create safe, tolerant and inclusive communities. We all have a moral duty to stop bullying and I will certainly be calling on the Welsh Government to lead by example and support measures that promote an anti-bullying agenda in Wales. I also hope that people across Pembrokeshire will support Anti-bullying Week by taking part in Odd Socks Day as a fun way of celebrating the diversity of our society and helping spread the message that it’s ok to be different.”
