Local Assembly Member Paul Davies has recently met with representatives of the Fishguard Bay Welcome team, a local community group that welcomes cruise ship guests to Fishguard and the surrounding areas. The group, which includes local volunteers, representatives from Pembrokeshire County Council, Fishguard Town Council and local dignitaries met with Mr Davies and the Captain of the Variety Voyager cruise ship, which had recently docked at Fishguard port.
Mr Davies said, “It was a pleasure to meet with representatives of the Fishguard Bay Welcome Project, to learn more about the Fishguard Friendly Faces initiative and how the local community is welcoming tourists to the area and providing valuable information and services to visitors.”
He added, “It’s great to see the Port welcoming more and more visitors to the local area. I understand that this cruise ship is one of twenty eight scheduled to visit Pembrokeshire between April and September, which is fantastic for the local economy. I look forward to seeing the local cruise market continue to grow in the future.”
