Preseli Pembrokeshire AM Paul Davies has recently attended a Scams Awareness event at Fishguard library with representatives from Citizens Advice and Pembrokeshire County Council. As Scams Awareness Month draws to a close, the drop-in event was a great opportunity to raise awareness of scams and the devastating effect that they have on families.
Mr Davies said, “I was delighted to drop into Fishguard library and help raise awareness of scams in Pembrokeshire. Scams come in all shapes and sizes, from door-door sales to emails to even text messages. However, one thing remains the same – these scams are a blight on our communities, robbing people of their hard-earned money and causing stress and emotional trauma.”
He added, “By working together we can fight back against these scammers. If you’ve been affected by a scam, please make sure that you report it so that your information can be used to help stop others from becoming victims of the same scam. Be vigilant and let’s work together to clear Pembrokeshire from scams all together.”
