An event to mark World Kidney Day 2020 was recently attended by local Assembly Member Paul Davies. The event showcased the work of the Paul Popham Fund, an organisation which supports patients of all ages living with renal diseases across Wales.
Mr Davies said, “World Kidney Day (Thursday 12th March) is a timely reminder of the vital role that our kidneys play in keeping our bodies healthy. It’s fascinating that our kidneys clean our blood up to forty times a day, remove toxins and waste products as well as activate Vitamin D to keep our bones and muscles in good shape.”
He added, “I was pleased to discuss the importance of good kidney health with representatives of the Paul Popham Fund and learn more about the steps that we can take to prevent a kidney condition from developing. The Paul Popham Fund do an excellent job of supporting patients with renal conditions and it was a real pleasure to hear more about their current projects.”
