Local Assembly Member Paul Davies has recently attended the launch of a report on Christian communities in Syria and Iraq. The Hope for the Middle East report, written in partnership with Middle East Concern, Served and the University of East London, which outlines the persecution faced by Christian communities in Syria and Iraq and how the international community can better protect and support those communities.
Mr Davies said, “It was an honour to attend the launch of the Hope for the Middle East report and to learn more about how we can support Christian communities in the Middle East that are facing persecution. It’s so important that the international community comes together to promote messages of tolerance, respect and peace and helps rebuild communities that have been victim to violence and sectarianism. I’m pleased to pledge my support to this important campaign and I look forward to working with Open Doors UK and other charities to do all that I can to help support those communities in greatest need.”
