Commenting on Carwyn Jones' announcement that Labour will govern alone, interim Leader of the Welsh Conservatives in the Assembly, Paul Davies AM, said:
"It is now absolutely essential that Labour follows its own advice and focuses on 'delivery' for the people of Wales.
"12 years of Labour-led governments have left our NHS, our schools and our economy failing.
"Under Labour, we have had nothing but missed targets and empty promises. Their talk of 'delivery' was a footnote to the last Assembly term, highlighted not for the good of Wales, but for the good of their election campaign.
"That poor legacy has got to end - and as the official opposition in the National Assembly - Welsh Conservatives will make sure our country is put first.
"Following another successful Assembly election, we are now the second largest party in the National Assembly. We are entirely focused on getting what's right for the people of Wales, scrutinising, and holding this government to account.
"Labour must put an end to their mistakes. Welsh Conservatives will provide the strongest possible voice to make sure that happens."
