Commenting on this afternoon's remarks by Plaid Cymru's Education Spokesperson that Labour's coalition partners are only "happy with some elements" of Leighton Andrews' proposals for schools, Paul Davies AM, Shadow Minister for Education, said:
"What chance has the Labour Education Minister got of pushing through his reforms if he can't even convince his coalition partners?
"After a succession of damning reports into school standards, parents were promised a considered response to improve young people's schooling, not contradictory messages from the governing coalition.
"Parents and teachers do not need lessons from politicians who have failed to improve education standards during their years in power."
