Haverfordwest County Football club's scheme of letting under-16s in to matches for free has been praised by the Welsh Shadow Sports Minister.
Paul Davies, who is also the Assembly Member for Preseli Pembrokeshire, says the scheme is a great way to get more youngsters into sport.
"Haverfordwest County is to be congratulated for running this scheme again this year, it is exactly the sort of thing that can spark a lifelong interest in sport and keeping active," said Mr Davies.
The scheme, which sees those aged 16 and under let into home games for free instead of the usual £4, first ran last year.
"We introduced it last year and will continue it this season," said the club's youth development officer Ron Beynon.
"It was very popular and we had a lot more children coming in to games."
Mr Davies said the club was also to be praised for its Ollie Morgan memorial shield tournament, a junior schools knockout competition which was played during half times of home premier league games.
"We shall be running the Ollie Morgan tournament again and are still deciding what form it will take," added Mr Beynon.
Mr Davies said: "Sharing a pitch with expert players is a very imaginative way of inspiring youngsters," added Mr Davies.
