Local Assembly Member Paul Davies has welcomed the news that Fishguard port will receive nineteen cruise ships this summer. The increase is a result of positive feedback received from visitors and from support via Visit Wales.
Mr Davies said, “This is certainly wonderful news for Fishguard and North Pembrokeshire, following glowing reports from previous visitors. To receive an additional nineteen cruise ships is a fantastic boost to the local area and I sincerely hope that it will bring some real benefits to local businesses.”
He added, “I’m pleased to see that a cruise committee has already been formed to make sure that visitors receive a warm welcome to Pembrokeshire and to encourage visitors to experience many of our local attractions. Fishguard and indeed, Pembrokeshire has so much to offer visitors and I hope that visitors to the area take advantage of our stunning coastline and support our local economy.”
