Local Assembly Member Paul Davies joined local representatives on the Senedd steps where a petition to improve Fishguard's Town Centre was being handed in to the Welsh Assembly. The petition calls for investment to be made in a town centre improvement scheme for Fishguard, including pedestrian and traffic management measures.
Mr Davies said, "I am delighted to support this local campaign and to show my support for the Fishguard Town Centre Improvement Scheme. Ultimately, this scheme will ensure that pedestrians are able to shop safely as sadly at present, many of the roads and pavements in the town centre are not fit for purpose."
He added, "It is essential that the town centre is fully accessible for all residents and visitors, including those with mobility and other disability needs. I will continue to monitor this petition carefully and ensure that this issue is raised at every available opportunity. Improving the town centre will naturally help small businesses in the area, which will in turn make their businesses more attractive to shoppers, and benefit the local economy."
