RESPONDING to yesterday's budget announcement that there will be extra investment in FE colleges, Shadow Education Minister Paul Davies said:
"We welcome any extra investment in post‐16 education in Wales.
"The consequential provision that Wales is expected to receive on the back of the Government's announcement on FE funding is estimated to be around £38mn.
"This would provide a much needed boost for colleges and sixth forms across Wales.
"During a recession it is vital that we continue to invest in skills and training.
"I hope the Assembly Government will ensure this money gets to the frontline of post‐16 education and training in Wales as quickly as possible."
