Welsh Conservative Paul Davies has been visiting branches of the National Autistic Society (NAS) as part of the second consultation of his Autism (Wales) Bill.
The Assembly Member has visited a number a branches, seeking the views of local members on his draft Autism Bill and how it can better support people living with autism in Wales.
This has so far included visiting branches in Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Swansea.
Mr Davies ran an initial consultation last year to gauge the initial views of interested parties, before launching a second consultation on the draft Autism (Wales) Bill and its objectives.
If successful, the Bill would put the provision of autism services on a statutory footing and ensure that local authorities and health boards take necessary action so that children and adults with autism get the support they need.
Paul Davies, Deputy Leader of the Welsh Conservatives and the AM for Preseli Pembrokeshire, said:
“It’s always a pleasure to meet with people affected by autism in Wales and listen to their views on ways we can improve service delivery across Wales.
“The consultation period for the Autism Bill has now ended and I’m delighted to receive such an overwhelming response from so many people.
“It’s clear that there’s a strong appetite for an Autism Bill and moving forward, I will be doing all that I can to see an Autism Bill delivered by the National Assembly for Wales.”
